The WCAGA plans events that correlate to our mission of promoting, cultivating, and advancing women in the arts.

Ongoing Events

Annual Board and Membership Meetings
The annual board of directors meeting and subsequent annual membership meeting are held in the fall to discuss business issues and future plans.

Educational Programs
We sponsor professional development (written communication, websites, etc.), and technical workshops (specific art media or techniques), as well as lectures and presentations on the visual arts by artists, art historians, and writers.

Annual Networking Day
This annual event consists of 1-2 days of lectures, panels, and workshops on a particular theme. The topic for 2007
was "Beyond the Studio: Communication in the Art World"

Art Shares
These are informal sessions for artists to bring finished artwork or work in progress to discuss with their peers.  Once a year we hold a “Slide Share” where participants
bring three to five slides or digital images of their work
to show to the group.

Book Club/ Discussion Group
Members meet every six to eight weeks to discuss a specific book or particular artist or art movement.

Studio and Gallery Tours
WCA/GA arranges frequent group visits to museums, galleries, alternative spaces and studios in the Atlanta Metro area and beyond.

Exhibition Opportunities
We sponsor one to four exhibitions a year in art centers, galleries, colleges and other public spaces in the Metro Atlanta area and other parts of Georgia.

Monthly Newsletter
Our monthly internet-based newsletter presents information on WCAGA business, programs and exhibitions, as well as members’ news and opportunities.
