Statement

The installation, “Remember Me,” brings into question the results of personal confrontation with the commodification of the human body (trafficking). The work presents the viewer with a crate of intricately crafted ceramic and porcelain bones, which emanates the sounds of children’s laughter and voices from deep inside. The children are speaking in Tagalog and Isan, both dialects from countries where the artist grew up. This sound personifies the bones as discarded children that have lost their lives – both physically and emotionally.
